So what is this?
Celebrate Recovery meets at the CORE Christian Community Center in Falcon. CORE stands for Corporate Worship, Others Focused, Relationship, and Education. There are dozens of workshops, Bible studies, Sports activities and other events taking place year around. The CORE Christian Community also serves as a hub for two of Falcon’s local Churches, Meridian Point Church and “brand new” Hills Christian Church.
Some of you just heard the word “recovery” and thought to yourselves, “Oh boy, here we go again.” And…you’re right. Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a 12-step program but unlike any you have heard about before. CR is currently partnered with over 35,000 churches in the US/worldwide and has helped tens of thousands of hurting people overcome their Hurts, Hang-Ups, and Habits.
You might be thinking, “How can this help me?” Well, Jesus tells us to lay our burdens on Him, but that can be difficult to do. Here is what Jesus said:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV)
For some of us, it’s a quick prayer and we’re done. But for most of us, it’s more than a simple prayer because we harbor guilt, shame, resentments, among other things. Most of us need help to discover this new freedom/relationship in Jesus Christ. To change the unhealthy habits in your life, you need people who tell you the truth. You’re not going to get well on your own. You’re going to need other people in your life who protect your anonymity and confidentiality, like the support that comes from Celebrate Recovery.
It’s not scary. Jump right in. Use this book to help you see if this program will benefit your life and your relationship with God.
When does Celebrate Recovery meet?
Celebrate Recovery (CR) meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm. If you have any questions about attending a step study, child care, or anything at all, be sure to email Star.
